Surrounded by Korean businesses, this little Japanese jewel was a sight for sore eyes. The boyfriend and I nearly drove past it as we were looking for a place to curb our hunger but thank goodness for it's unique name otherwise we would've never had the pleasure of stopping in. Right when you walk in, you're greeted by a cute plastic display of some of their dishes, such as the Asari ramen, Tonkatsu ramen and Takoyaki; as well as a very friendly Japanese waitress. The restaurant was empty of customers but the music was very interesting and there was a Japanese health show playing on one of two TV screens they hung in the upper corners of the establishment. The menu is a little confusing (I'm pretty sure I saw Tonkatsu ramen on there twice, or maybe I was just too focused on drooling over the Miso ramen to be absolutely sure) but to put it simply, it's alchohol, appetizers then entrees in that order. There's roughly three pages full of different types of noodles you can get, whether it be the traditional hot ramen, or the cold udon. After a while of going through the menu and deciding on which to get (Being the adorable nerd he is, the boyfriend was trying to figure out which ramen Naruto usually orders to no avail), I ended up getting the Miso ramen and he ordered the spicy Shoyu ramen. Our food took a little while to come out but for ramen that wasn't straight out of a packet, we were willing to wait. When you hear a faint doorbell, that's when you know your food is done. The waitress brought my ramen out first and let me tell you, neither I nor my boyfriend were expecting such a large portion size. The bowl looked to be about the size of medium frying pan and deeper than any bowl of noodles I'd ever had before. I actually didn't think either of us would be able to finish it. But boy were we wrong. The ramen was fantastic! I ate every last bit, down to the kernels of corn that sunk to the bottom of the bowl. The ramen comes out straight off the fire with the noodles submerged in the broth and the other ingredients, quarter of a boiled egg, seaweed, slices of meat, beansprouts, sitting at the top waiting to be stirred and mixed in with the noodles. We both complemented on how delicious the strips of pork were. To be fair, we tasted a spoonful of each others broth and the next time we come back, I am definitely getting the Shoyu ramen! When we had both finished and were sitting back in our chairs, fully satisfied with the meal we just had, the waitress came right over and asked us for our empty bowls. I like that so much better than having to leave our dirty dishes in front of us when we leave. In total, the meal was about $20 but considering we usually pay that amount for dinner even when it's only about a third as filling as the ramen, we weren't complaining in the least. All in all, I'm 100% sure we'll be coming back!

Tried 3 different ones, all very bland tasteless noodles, even with the spicy one. Ingredient is on the stingy side. One can rip up way more flavorful ramen at home under 15 minutes. I fail to see any the value in an over $10 bowl of noodles that does not taste any better than a 60 cents package of instant noodles. They don't taste bad but just really so so. They taste nothing like the delicious ramen I had in Japan. Very disappointed.

A ok.. Nothing special about their food.

This ramen shop is located across the street from HMart. The atmosphere is really comforting, feels like you were in a Kyoto restaurant in Japan. The staff is friendly and personable. There are a lot of choices for the type of ramen you want and also other type of entrees.(Agedashi Tofu, Donburi, Gyoza, etc...) The ramen soup is a bit bland, but other than that it was enjoyable. Satisfied my ramen craving!

Yum. Great. There are several DOZEN types of Ramen to peruse on their menu. Choose between a few broths and in a short amount of time a giant bowl of Ramen is brought to your table. Don't forget to slurp your soup, it is customary. Go once, twice if you like it. Plenty of free parking.

My 7-yr old son, a supermarket-ramen fanatic, and I, a ramen skeptic/novice, both thoroughly enjoyed our ramen bowls at I Love Ramen. He had the Nagasaki, sans vegetables, and I had the tonkatsu. My bowl was huge and beautiful, including seaweed, sweet corn, a few other things and plenty of tender pork, along with the tasty noodles. I appreciated the fact that the noodles were cooked perfectly, not too soft. We pretty much ate every morsel and drop, and also plowed through two orders of gyoza, the regular fried type for him, and the steamed for me...I thought the steamed version was superior, absolutely scrumptious. The place was clean, and the service very friendly and accommodating. We will be back to try other versions of ramen on their very extensive menu. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that they are, as others have mentioned, on the pricey side. I was a bit surprised that the bill came to $40 for two bowls of noodle soup (large though they were), two orders of dumplings, a sprite and a tea. Nevertheless, it was darn good ramen!

I was driving on Pac. Highway and saw an "authentic Japanese ramen" sign. As a Japanese native, I decided to try and see if this restaurant really serves Japanese ramen. I went to the restaurant by myself. It was around lunch time, and only two people were there (probably because of weekday). There were a variety of ramens I could choose from, but I already knew what I wanted to get: Shoyu ramen. I waited 10 to 15 minutes, and my Shoyu ramen came to the table. First I tried the soup. It was too salty. The noodle was not bad, but I could not enjoy the dish at all because of the soup. Flavorful soup + Perfect noodle = Delicious Ramen That's what I think. If you are looking for an "authentic Japanese ramen," skip this place. Am I going to go back there again? Probably not.

Went here a few weeks ago to get some noodles, The ramen was good, not the best, but I liked it, nice and friendly atmosphere, not much noise.

Friday afternoon, 2:45pm. My husband and I walk into this little place, after debating over Red Lobster or Akasaka. We chose this place because my husband loves Ramen and we have never tried it here. We thought since we ordered from the lunch menu we would be charged lunch prices. Lunch is over at 3:00pm here. After that, it is considered dinner. We ordered and received our food a little before 3:00. I ordered the tofu ramen, which was ok and, like other reviews, it could have been from an instant package with corn and bean sprouts added. There were 4 pieces of fried tofu. I also ordered a green salad but when I asked if there was seaweed in it, the waitress had to ask in the back. There is no seaweed in the salad. I also ordered a bowl of plain white rice.My husband ordered #1 on the menu which was a seafood and pork ramen with white sauce. He was not at all impressed by this. He said it was very bland and he wouldn't give it to our dog for supper. He also ordered the Gyozas, 6 pieces. Half way through our meal, the waitress came over and asked us if we could be charged for the dinner prices. We said absolutely not, we were there for lunch. She told us that the owner had requested that she come over and ask if they could charge us the dinner prices. She even told us she knew we were there before 3:00 but had to ask since they told her to. CHARGE US THE LUNCH PRICES PLEASE! We had ordered a Sapporo beer for him and a white Nigori sake for me. I was not aware this sake was not filtered and was pure sake 15% proof! I don't usually drink so this was way too much for me. It was good and is served cold or on ice. The bottle is like a bottle of wine, has about 3 good size glasses. I don't drink a whole bottle of wine by myself, ever. I was thinking it would come in a nice little sake jar, like most places have. This was probably the best part of the meal but was $10.95 for 1 bottle. I guess if you are going to order alcohol expect to pay higher prices, right? Ok, We knew when we ordered the drinks it was going to be pricey. For what we got on our table, the prices for the food was WAY TOO HIGH!! My green salad was $3.95, the rice was $4.95 (FOR RICE!!!!), my tofu ramen $8.95, his gyoza $6.95, the #1 $7.50. These prices are not lunch prices but rather dinner prices. So, we felt we got ripped off. Our bill for the two of us was $54.47 and we included a $6.00 tip. Take $18.50 off for the alcohol, which again is way too pricey. Needless to say, we will not be back to I Love Ramen Japanese Noodles ever ever again. We paid $35.97 for just the food for two of us. My sister and I ate at Indochine yesterday and had a lovely house salad, Tom Ke soup, lettuce wraps and brown rice for $24.95. My recommendation to anyone reading this, don't go to I Love Ramen, go to Indochine next door!!!!!!

Holy ramen Batman! I've never seen so many types on one menu. The place is clean, quick, and the food is pretty good. There are a couple options for those that don't dig the soup, but not much. Not bad, we'll definitely be back.

What can I say...I LOVE Ramen! Yup, grew up with it back in Hawaii! So, coming from such deep roots...and considering my Father owned a Ramen stand in Waikiki, I am very familiar with the stuff. Fresh Japanese noodles made by Japanese people...who could ask for more? My favorite is the Spicy "Nagasaki" Champon Ramen...yup, never had this stuff before. It has all of the stuff I liked - seafood, spicy, good "not to salty" broth. And don't forget the Gyoza (or Potsticker for you Americans, Mandoo for you Koreans...lol). My kids devour them. Too bad their small, but that's to be expected with fresh Gyoza. Lastly, the staff was great. Under staffed, if anything - but never-the-less accommodating. Japanese TV plays all day - so we get a kick out of watching some of the news and trying to understand what they are saying...it was so funny that my son thought it was a WII game - with all of those funny illustrations used on one particular show. If you've never tried fresh Japanese Ramen, then you've got to do it once. And DON'T mistake it for that dried $0.39 stuff you can buy at Albertsons...it is soooooo different. Thanks for opening up near where I live! I wish you the best successes!

Pretty good ramen, though if you're a ramen-a-holic you have to make the trek up to Aloha Ramen in Greenlake.

Japanese? I thought this was a Korean restaurant the whole time. (I'm almost sure it's owned by Koreans. C'mon, H-Mart is right across the street.) Whatever. I definitely think this is a place worth experiencing at least once. It's a cute this restaurant with a good variety of ramen options (ramen pronounced rah-mi-yun in Korean). I'm just not sure how I feel about paying $9.50 plus tax for a bowl of ramen that I've easily made myself for less than $2. But I guess it's no different from pho (unless it's authentic pho made with real beef broth). Even then, it's still pretty pricey--a small bowl of pho is $6ish. But the quality of pho is sometimes a hit-or-miss, the quality of these noodle dishes are good. I had to add some condiments (pepper, chili sauce and a little bit of soy sauce) to mine since it was a little bland. My girlfriends had the options with soy sauce as an ingredient. They both liked theirs. One of them had the kimchee dish--she seemed to like it a lot. After dinner, we had mochi--which was the only option for dessert--strawberry, green tea, red bean, and some other flavor. I wish they had fried ice-cream. Oh well. I think my experience of ramen in Hawaii and NYC effected my rating. It's just not the same...

New restaurant in k-town (what Federal Way is known as) ! Even though it's a Japanese restaurant, the menu was in English, Japanese, and Korean. The owner predicted their clientele with great accuracy although it's not too hard in Federal Way. The entrance is a bit awkward-- you park in a tiny plaza/court and walk towards Pac Highway. The front door faces the highway and you have to watch your step going in since there isn't a real walkway. The atmosphere is clean, cool, and the Japanese bar decorations and Japanese TV show playing in a corner gives the tiny place a somewhat authentic Japanese feeling. My mom ordered the I love Spicy Nagasaki Ramen, which is basically a spicy soup with egg noodles and seafood and pork. She liked it a lot, but couldn't finish it (and she generally eats a lot). The bowls were more like mini-pots though- really big. I ordered the Shoyu ramen, which was rather like pho, with a stronger umami taste. It's the cheapest ramen on the menu $7.95, and the rest are $9.95-11.95. The ramen was springy and the soup wasn't too hot, a mistake made too often at Samurai Noodle. It also wasn't greasy and we didn't leave the restaurant feeling bloated but feeling full and satisfied. One star off for price (Maybe i'm spoiled from U-District's cheap pricing, but a bowl of noodle in any other restaurant in Federal Way generally runs 6.95-8.95)

My husband and I had lunch here today, he ordered the tonkatsu ramen and I had the tempura udon. We also had the chicken kara-age (fried chicken) as an appetizer. Great comfort food on such a rainy day! Thank you for such a great dining experience. Check it out!!

We ordered their Nagasaki Chanpon Ramen ($10.95)) and Tonkotsu Ramen ($9.50). We went there at 7pm on Saturday and there were only 4 tables with customers. I understand there's only one waitress, but she asked us to wait and wait and wait. She is a nice lady but the order of serving the customer is very wrong. We just need to place our orders and she can continue serving other customers. Instead of taking order from us, she went to ASK other customers to see if they want more water, clean up the tables (that has no customer), and other little stuffs. I don't mind the service much if you have good quality food. We were so disappointed for the ramen. Before I took a bite, I recognized a very familiar smell of Hong Kong style instant noodle soup from my Tonkotsu ("pork bone condense soup"...if you are from HK, you know this flavor of instant noodle for sure). On the menu, it said it is homemade broth! My sister's Nagasaki and mine are soup made of MSG!!! My sister's tongue is very sensitive to MSG and she feels tickle. The pork meat are tough and lack of flavor; moreover, I only got two pieces in the size that is slightly bigger than my thumb. Anyway, we had two big bowl of MSG instant noodle soup ramen. We only ate 2/3 to stop our hunger and we left. We were in a hurry and didn't check the bill until it was too late. We were charged for $27! My sister was so generous she even add some tips on top of it!!! Two instant noodle soup ramen for $27?!!! You are kidding me!!! She overcharged us!!! The one star is given for its cleanness.

First time here. Just for "first pass reference" ordered my old stand-by Chashu ramen. Clean, quiet, family-oriented but fine for those of us without. The food that appeared on our neighbor's table looked great...have to come back for further...(ahem) research! Unfortunately, have to take it easy today in anticipation of early dinner & KODO concert(!). THAT should help with digestion(?!) OK...explanation for the Stars. The Best is YUZU on Beaverton, OR. BUT, we have not found anyone to offer serious competition to them here in Washington. This place used the "right" noodles at the right consistency. Inclusions were fresh. Soup stock was a touch thin, but easily adjusted with pepper to suit (my) taste. Sooo...for what it's worth (& so far) that's my take on I Love Ramen. Definitely worth trying. Value is there. True ramen "snobs" may find fault, but take it for what it is.

This was my first time eating real ramen that didn't require boiling water and stirring in a seasoning packet. It was delicious! The noodles (the best part of the meal) were chewy and went well with the hot broth. There was a variety of vegetables and a lot of meat. I ordered the #1 which had shrimp, squid and pork. My only complaint was it was too hot to dive right in when it got to the table, but that's just me being a greedy noodle fiend. I will definitely visit and try more dishes again soon.

Excellent service and good authentic food. The cook is a sweet lady called Yoko who obviously cares about her craft. Decor is very nice. I had the spicy ramen and it was great. Nice flavor and a decent amount of heat. Serving size is very generous, be prepared to bring some home.

As we were heading to have some Pho, we noticed that this location once again had changed hands and was now a Japanese noodle restaurant. We did a U-turn and decided to give it a try. My other half had spicy yakisoba noodles (a spicy version was not on the menu, but he requested it). His dish was ok, a little on the dry side but still tasty. I had the spicy version of a ramen soup with a mixture of vegetables, seafood, and other meat. It was very tasty and spicy. The bowl was huge and I was unable to finish my bowl. There are many different types of ramen to choose from. I will be back since I saw more than one I want to try out. The waitress was very friendly and helpful.

I went to I Love Ramen for lunch last week with my other mom, born and raised in the Gunma Prefecture of Japan. They are known for their udon, and because of this I have always been a bit spoiled with delicious bowls of hot and piping Japanese ramen and udon, made fresh for me with imported ingredients. So, for the record, I feel like I am a bit saturated when it comes to ramen field, and maybe a tad snobby about what I pay $11 dollars for. There were things I kind of liked about I Love Ramen; the decor, the cute tables and fake food up front showing the different noodles... but mostly there were things that just plain irked me. When we first arrived we were seated quickly but never given menus. The waitress apologized a few times about being busy, said she would be back, then left to help other customer. About ten minutes later she came back and asked if we were ready to order. A little irritated, 'mom' said a menu would be nice and the waitress made a noise, grabbed our menus and apologized five more times. Eventually, when we did order it was a mess in and of itself. I picked a shoyu ramen with mochi (hell, it's the New Year, eating mochi is good luck!) and was immediately asked by the waitress if I even knew what mochi was. I said yes, I have had it before, but even after that she started to EXPLAIN it to me. I was saved by 'mom' who in exasperation told the waitress, in Japanese, that she had made mochi for me on numerous occasions, especially the Japanese New Year, and I was aware of the chewy texture and I wouldn't choke on it. At the time I couldn't help but laugh out loud because I had never been to a restaurant where I was considered unknowledgeable on ethnic food even after I ordered the damn thing and informed whomever that I knew what I was ordering. The best part is that after I got my bowl, the waitress patted my back and told me that eating mochi for New Years was good luck, gave me a thumbs up and told me I picked well. Sigh. She must not have heard what we had told her previously... but thank you, my friend. Anyways, the ramen itself was ok. It lacked flavor, in all honesty. I was disappointed in the cost for what I got. I am sure, however, that if I had a chance to go back and order another ramen from their large variety then I would probably get something I enjoyed more. I just feel like if I spent the time and bought the ingredients, I could have made myself the same ramen bowl at home. I do want to go back, if only to have a better experience.

So i reviewed this place when it first opened up and decided to see if anyone else had reviewed it.(My review yelp.com/biz/i-love-rame… ) Couldn't find the review i started and instead found this. Well the review went like this: Finally... A ramen place in my area. We saw the "coming soon" sign and couldn't wait to try it out. We weren't disappointed. I had the miso ramen and it was good. My wife ordered the chashu ramen and it was better. They have about 20 different ramen and some other items on the menu including kara age, yakitori, sukiyaki. Today was just the second day open and I'm sure I'll be visiting them often.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews that say 10 per bowl is overpriced. The noodles are ok and the miso broth is good. However i rather eat Pho for the price and the overall taste. I will give this place another shot if they tame their prices a bit.

Since we saw the 2008 movie Ramen Girl, I have wanted to try Ramen soup. I love Pho soup (we have it at least once a week - sometimes 2 or more times) and I was anxious to see the difference. The reviews on the new "I Love Ramen" place in Federal Way were positive and so Sunday we went to try it. We approached the door only to see a "closed for problems" sign on it but noticed people inside. I knocked and they said they had soup but nothing else and we said GREAT and joined the other customers. Our waitress was helpful and patient - explaining the different kinds enabling us to choose two (Chicken and Meat Ball) unfortunately with the same base. While eating we asked the waitress if we could just try some of the other broths and she and the cook were very accommodating- bringing out small bowls of two other broths. Ours was soy base and we agreed it was the correct choice. I will say the restaurant was simple but nice, service was outstanding and the soup good. Unfortunately it is too similar to Pho and so while we may come back again, we still will have our Pho weekly. If you have wanted to try Ramen soup, I would recommend "I Love Ramen".

Most Japanese Restaurants in Federal Way are illusions! They are either Koren owned sushi restaurants, Koren BBQ restaurants and Korean owned Teriyaki huts. This place is super Japanese and authentic! They even have the plastic 3d Japanese menu items when you walk inside so you know what your food is going to look like before you order. I had the spicy special Ramen, the waitress was really good about making recommendations. It was the perfect amount of everything and the soup was really good. I also had the gyoza and they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside just how i like them. The menu is pretty big for this tiny place. I will be going back for sure!

I've had decent ramen in Seattle... and Vancouver... but the lunch I had today at I Love Ramen blows anything else I've had out of the water... with a nuclear bomb!!! It was by far the singularly best bowl of ramen I've ever had... and this has been an on-going life quest of mine. The shumai and yakitori were also awesome. Can't wait to come back for a dinner and try MORE!! Having a restaurant of this quality in my neighborhood makes me proud to live here!!

Yummy!!! Went here for the 1st time and got the tonkatsu ramen. It was so good!! They have so many to choose from. They are a bit pricey but so worth it!! I can't wait to go back and try another ramen. Super nice service too!!!

Fan-effing-tastic was the food at this place! I absolutely LOVE Federal Way for its diversity of Asian fare, and I Love Ramen definitely lived up to the hype. My date and I were greeted with "moshi moshi" once we entered the establishment, as well as a view of some plastic food, in the event that we couldn't read English OR Japanese, haha. For appetizers, we had the Ebi Tempura and the Engrish-laden Karamari (Calamari), both of which were very good. We both decided to get the same type of ramen, or else I'd have more to write about. We chose the I Love Spicy Nagasaki Champon Ramen, and we chose "very spicy" for our level of heat. We were not disappointed. The ramen was delightfully spicy--anything that un-stuffs my nose is hot in my book. I was hella full after finishing my bowl, but not "itis" level. With two bowls of ramen plus appetizers, the bill was less than 40 bucks, which was more than alright by me. I recommend this ILR to anyone, and if you question the authenticity of this place, look no further than the throngs of Japanese-Americans who eat here. Legit.

Very flavorful and authentic ramen. I enjoyed the miso ramen, perfectly seasoned and no MSG. It would have been nice to have more than one slice of char siu, however. We also ordered gyoza. I would have preferred a stronger dipping sauce. In Japan, we create our own sauce with vinegar, chili oil and soy. Mother had the tempura ramen which. The batter was light and served on the side. Dad had the udon noodle which was also to his liking. Quality of the ramen is excellent, having grown up in Hawaii and spending much time in Japan, I can attest to this fact. I thought it a bit odd that they served Jasmine tea, however, rather than a green or genmai cha tea. At any rate the ramen here rivals and betters anything in Seattle, including Samurai ramen (4 star), Boom noodle (3 star), Kaname (4 star). My only criticism is add one more piece char siu to ramen and perhaps add kamaboku slice. The service is outstanding and the ambience casual and clean.

Our service was very kind and we were seated quickly, right near the register which was so nice. We were able to get the waitresses attention with no issues. As far as food, I ordered their okonomiyaki and got HOOKED. It was SO good (enough for two people normally, but I always eat a TON). It was one of the most expensive items on the menu which I thought was a downer, and for the food we got we felt it was a bit expensive. My husband got one of the ramens (and I'm honestly not sure which one). I did get a few bites of his, but it was severely lacking. The noodles were bland and the broth was only so-so. The decorations were absolutely adorable though. All in all it's okay food with pretty rad service. I'll come back for sure, but the price will make it a rare treat. One last thing I wanted to mention is that while it was appreciated that she eventually showed us how to eat the okonomiyaki, the waitress did hover and stare as I ate it with my chopsticks instead of the spatula. The way she went about it came off as a little rude, but once we started using the spatulas all was well.

I ordered the Gyoza Ramen with extra Gyoza's. It was a little pricey for what I call, gourmet Top Ramen. The flavor and all was good, but nothing special, nothing I couldn't get from a package of Top Ramen, but the bowl presentation looked nice though. :-) I shouldn't expecting anything mind blowing out of a Ramen joint, overall it was decent, I guess Ramen isn't really my thing, when it comes to dining out. I don't like people touching my food and if you do it, don't let me see it. When the Ramen is done, the person waiting on you throws sesame on top of your bowl for a little sesame flavor, but they do it bare handed. At least use a small spoon or something. Sorry, don't mean to be picky, I can be OCD sometimes when it comes to things like that.

Our service was fast and friendly. The bowl sizes are pretty big and cost is below $10 a bowl. Very reasonable I feel for the quality. I suggest getting the Hawaiian ramen, the fried spam bits are amazing in the broth. The cons would be the lack of side dishes. There were a few thing you can order, however a larger side dish item list is great for people or groups to order and share while u have a bowl of ramen. We all shared a salad, and had our own rames. However I would have liked to order a few side items as well. More please.

First time and place I ate ramen, and I swore I'd never eat ramen again at a restaurant until I discovered Kukai ramen in Bellevue! Which changed my life and I'd make the drive from federal way to Bellevue anytime, anywaysssss.... Aside from that, they used cheap top ramen for these noodles, I can basically buy a bag and make "ramen" myself if I wanted to, and I heard them using the microwave to make stuff.... Not fresh, took one bite and left it there, the lady was nice.... But again, I would never come back to this place.

Pretty good tonkotsu ramen, not too salty, although I've been spoiled by hakata ramen in LA. I wish the broth was a little more flavorful- I didn't get a big pork flavor I was craving. The Takoyaki had the nice crispy outer shell, but the octopus was overcooked and tough. I will probably still come back to try the okonomiyaki that is new on the menu! The parking is easy, as it's in a strip mall. If you're in Federal Way, check it out!

The food is very boring and unhealthy. I guess ramen is normally unhealthy but I thought it was ridiculous since the broth didn't have much flavor. I had the combo with "mini" shouyu ramen with gyoza (no rice) and mom had Nagasaki chanpon. My mom has super low standard because she's from Kyushuu but thought that chanpon was good. My shouyu ramen didn't have any aroma so I had to pour the pepper. And the mini ramen wasn't really mini, it's pretty normal so I guess the portions are good here if nothing else is. The gyouza tasted like frozen ones but it was deep fried like tempura so if you like extra fat go for it. The service is slow. We waited like 30 min for the food. There seems to be only 2 workers and I guess that's fine since there were only 2 other parties besides us but it was extremely slow. Luckily we sat in front of the tv and they had Japanese NHK so I wasn't bored. The interior decor is the only thing I really liked. The food is below average and over priced.

We ordered tako squid balls, Nagasaki noodles, Katsu noodles, and gyoza, which came out to $40. Honestly it was a bit pricey for something so simple. My order was the tako and Nagasaki so this review is only based on those two items. The tako balls were yummy so no complaint there, but my Nagasaki noodles wasn't impressive. Claimed to be the best seller under its description, but I think not. Soup was bland for something that looked like it shouldn't be. The presentation was spot on though which was why I had such high hopes for this dish. There was more veggie than meat and the strip meat was tough. It only comes with 2 pieces of shrimp a 5-7 little strips of meat and there was an assorted bunch of veggies. The bigger pieces of veggie like the carrots and bell pepper were still a bit raw. I actually wanted to try the pork ramen but my heart fell for the Nagasaki and boy was I disappointed. Oh well, there's always a next time. As for service, food came out pretty quick, but the waiter never checked up on us to refill water or ask us how the food was.

This place is great. A small place with a cozy feel. Prices are reasonable. Staff is very nice. And the portions are huge! Oh, and the food is delicious! This is my new regular place to eat out!

This is a small place and as soon as we walked in, we were treated and greeted nicely. We were the only ones there so the ramen came pretty fast, which was a plus. I ordered the spicy ramen. The bowl was huge!!! It had everything in there. Really hot which I love. I honestly didn't think I would finished it all, but I did. I don't care for eggy noodles and these where just perfect in texture and flavor. I will definitely come back when I am in the mood for Ramen and big appetite.

Went here for lunch, cause there was a big sign outside saying lunch special. Asked for the lunch special and she gave me another menu that said lunch specials but same price as on the regular menu. no lunch special for me today. Ended up ordering the chau su pork ramen and a order of gyoza and a 1 coke. 25.00 for 2 items and a drink overly priced for below average food. Also there was a 2.50 charge on my tab asked what was the 2.50 charge she said for the extra green onions I asked for. So I pointed out to her that it said 1.50 on the menu not 2.50. I know it's just a dollar difference but how many people have they done that to. I will not be coming back here just for the simple fact I can do better at hm for a lesser price. Service quality of food prices

Remind me of Tokyo! This place is so good. Broth is packed full of flavor! I almost always get the chasu ramen(pork ramen). Presentation is spot on. Prices are maybe on the high side but they are high in Japan as well lol. Amazing place

The name of this restaurant is exactly how I feel. I LOVE RAMEN! Lol. The service was fast, the food was delicious and the portions are huge. I ended up ordering an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. (I shared, of course!) The place is small but cute; very standard Asian-esk. The only problem was splitting the bill. I was with a large group and trying to split and pay our tabs was a little hectic. Overall, we enjoyed everything. Will definitely be back!

The Ramen is delicious. Lots of tasty treats throughout the ball. Pork is yummy and in all sorts of other good things going on in there too. This is a great place to go if you're going to have lunch with a ninja.

I've only been there once and I have to say it was "alright." I wasn't overly impressed with their borth, but maybe cause I'm comparing it to Korean style ramen. I did order the #2 SPICY CHANPON & it was pretty good, but I wanted it spicier with more of a kick. I ended up adding a bunch of hot sauce, and that helped a lot. I did really like the fried tofu appetizer--THAT WAS DELICIOUS! That broth was amazing!! I may try it again, but I'd like to keep trying other places. The nice thing is the ladies who run the place are very nice, so the service was great.

The service here does need to step it up to get to their patrons faster. The food is pretty good. I had the Hawaiian Raman which had fried spam and a hard boil egg, pretty bomb. My girl had the tempura noodles. She said it was alright, that they need to not be greedy with the shrimp. My kid had the chicken curry that they didn't eat, cause we ended up just sharing our food. I and my girl ate it and it was rather good. If they was to do anything better is better customer service.

Sorry, but for a place that goes by the name I Love Ramen, let me just say that I most assuredly do NOT love their ramen at all. In fact, it's easily the worst ramen I've ever tasted. I have tried four or five different things on their menu.....the only thing that was any good at all was their cold noodle salad.....which isn't even available for more than half the year. Gross. Not worth the time or effort.

Food was pretty good, mind you I am not experienced in the culinary art that is ramen. Compared to the other ramen places I've been to...or those that claim to be ramen, this is better than those places. Service was average/below, though this did not ruin the meal. The decorations are adorable. It looks super sketchy from the outside, not gonna lie. Almost didn't stop because of this, but once inside it's much better. Overall I would go back.

Stop by I Love Ramen for lunch. Service is always a pleasure. The owner is a nice old lady who just loves to serve us Ramen. This place is exactly like what their name suggests " I love Ramen". 80% of their menu are combination of many different ramens. Their ramen is above average. If you are looking for a quick ramen fix, I Love Ramen is not a bad choice. However, I feel like the price is little on the expensive side for these ramens. One ramen with a hot tea can easily cost you 15$ for lunch. My favorite in this place is the dry ramen, I Love Suka. It has a lot of vegetalbe combination and I just love the cirspiness of the ramen on the plate. The food came out sizzling hot. There are definitely better Ramen places. With the high price tag, I give I Love Ramen a 3!

The noodles tasted okay. However, it cannot beat Kukai ramen in Bellevue and Seattle in terms of price and taste. The service was poor: the waitress only spoke to us when we ordered; she didn't even bother to refill the water and said nothing when picking up and returning our credit cards.

My wife is from Japanese. Coming here from Japan it was very difficult to find and actual authentic Japanese restaurant that sold real Japanese home cooked food. A friends told us about this place. We gave it a try, now we go at least once a week. Since we been here in WA, this without a doubt the best Japanese restaurant we have ever encountered in WA. As soon as you walk in the door, the aviance of this place makes you feel as if you are back in Japan. Our Only Con and honestly they only reason we give it Four Stars is that recently they hung up some Skateboards on the wall next to the Japanese art. It's really distracting and totally draws away from the real beauty of this place. I know they are from this famous person. But this is not really the place for display.

Was expecting it to be awful but it wasn't. Cute Japanese restaurant - waitress/cook was not very friendly (she warmed up when she brought the check). Ordered the gyoza as an app ($6 for 5 very small gyoza) she brought with ramen - they were very tasty but overpriced. I got the cold ramen (no broth) - since it was 90+ outside and hubby got the Hawaiian ramen - he really liked it (I love spam buy didn't like the spam tempura). I thought they were both just ok.......Total for lunch was $35 which was way tooooo much for what we got. Fun to try but won't be back............

Ordered: gyoza; choshu ramen. Pros: -Ramen in an area where there's not a lot of ramen shops -Gyoza combined w/salad and miso dressing (novel concept, tastes ok) Cons: -Broth was bland -Pork overcooked, dry and bland -Expensive for the low quality -Dirty dishes from previous diners on multiple tables despite empty store

My family and I wanted to eat here because we haven't been here since they opened. We liked it the first time we came when they just opened the restaurant and thought it was good enough that we could come back. Finally, after almost 2 years we came back! The waitress told us to find a table to sit and so we did, then she told us not to sit anywhere else but the table she escorted us to. She wasn't very nice about it either. We ordered tonkatsu ramen, beef curry, and gyoza. We've had better ramen but their ramen was good! The broth was tasty and the noodles weren't too soft! My husband wasn't too excited about their beef curry. We liked the gyoza! The waitress didn't even say thank you for coming or have a good evening. If the waitress was nicer to us I would have given this place a better rating but I find it hard to do so if you walk into a restaurant and they treat you as if you are not welcomed.

Horrible service!!! Arrived an hour before closing on a Monday....No greeting from the waiter and two guest at one table. F****** rude and states two cold noodle salads are "seasonal"....How hard is it to boil soba noodles? Ordered the chicken katsu ramen so let's see how he serves our order.... Tea cups half filled with a tea bag, water not filled to the top....Do not recommend this place at all...Being that I'm on vacation I'm going to suck it up and dig deep to share some "Aloha" with this ramen stop!!!

This place was fantastic and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had the chicken curry and it was just phenomenal and the other guys i came with seemed very pleased with their meals. The salad that was brought out with my meal was unexpectedly delicious as well. I don't know what kind of dressing they used but try it!! I would definitely recommend this place. I know I will be back!!!!

I love this place so much. It is some of the best authentic ramen I've ever had. Our drinks were very flat and no syrup flavoring but it didn't hold us back so it still received a 5 star! The ramen is phenomenal!!!

Tried this place for the first time. It was pretty good. We had the #2 and #7. Both were pretty good quality for the price. The real spicy is a good level of hot if you like spicy food. The portion size was good. The server was nice enough. Not overly friendly, but provided a good level of service. It took a while for someone to take our orders, but we understood as it looked like it was only one person serving. Looked like there were only two people working the entire restaurant which was a little over half full. The lady who took our payment was not as pleasant though. She was rather short with us when we asked about credit card payments. Also she didn't seem too willing to offer up that they have a frequent diners card. The card says buy 8 entrees and get 1 free, which is pretty cool, except she said it's "per visit" despite what the card says. Whether or not she just didn't want to go by what the card says or if that has been their forever policy, I don't know. Another ramen place we've been to says per entree and does just that, punches per entree. Not a big deal though, as they don't even necessarily have to offer the promotion. It was just more of the attitude she gave me when I asked to clarify the promotion. The food was good though. It is a toss up though whether I will go back.

I lived in Japan for many years and I traveled over an hour to try this place since no one local made better ramen than the one in the frozen section. The service was good, the place was clean, and the Obasan was very friendly. That is what made the food so disappointing. Other than the dressing on the noodles (corn, sprouts, etc), everything was instant. The spicy miso had good flavor but the noodles were the dehydrated ones and not the decent kind. I would have liked it better had they been the frozen kind without a bad texture. The gyoza and croquet were without a doubt frozen, which made me even more frustrated. It has the right feel for a local izakaya/ramen joint but the food falls flat. Save your money, go to the asian market freezer.

This is a Korean joint run by Koreans. Friendly waitress and friendly water. I'll stop there. This is not Japanese ramen. Overpriced instant ramen. Very disappointed.

Having grown up in Japan and being Japanese, I feel I'm qualified to say what is good or at least decent ramen. I love this place. There are not a lot of noodle shops in the area, so I was jacked when I saw this place. I had their spicy miso ramen and I thought it was great. Good flavor-although I do like my soups more on the salty side, but I'd rather have to add salt than it being too salty. Service was good, the staff is friendly and my food came quickly. I'll be going back when I get my noodle cravings which is basically once a week :)

  • Acacia N.

**the service :was disappointed, need to wait a long time for a waiter after you seat yourself. **the noodle: it is just a frozen ramen noodles that u can buy in any asian market. ** the soup base: the soup base here, is not the creamy savoy type, it is light and fresh. And i felt like there are less MSG than most ramen restaurant. ** the price: OVER PRICED! most ramen soups are around 9.99~12.99 before tax.

Definitely one of the better ramen shops in the south end.. I've always had great and friendly service and the food has been satisfying each time I eat here. They have a big selection of different ramen styles to choose from and even have a nice variety of appetizers. The lady always makes sure we are happy with our meals and they are very caring to their customers. I also enjoy the fact that it is in Federal Way so you don't have to go all the way into downtown Tacoma or Seattle to get good ramen like this, it is easy to get to and parking is a breeze.

Great authentic Japanese cuisine. We started with Sui Gyoza, Kimuchi, and Tsukune. So many more to try next time. For our main dish we had Curry Udon and Tonkatsu Ramen, both were amazing. We washed it down with a large Kirin and hot sake. A definite must try!

Awful service!! We ordered two ramen and one Tonkatsu. The waitress or owner ( older lady ) took our order and she ended up bringing us 3 ramens! She mis understood us and brought Tonkatsu ramen. We did not eat the 3rd one and we ended up paying for it even though it wasn't our fault! When we addressed this issue to the owner, she still made us pay-even when she knew it was miscommunication and she heard us incorrectly. Awful service!!! Because of this incident we will never go back and will continue telling our friends about their awful service. Own up to your mistake!!

  • Annie T.

When this place first opened up, they were one of the better places due to lack of other options. However, their ramens were never quite right, usually too salty and lacked the truly Japanese flavor. Ramens are supposed to simple, with maybe 5 different flavors max, but this menu has so many variations that it's confusing to order. One of their best dishes isn't actually ramen, but the katsu-don. They have a layer of egg between the meat and the coating which makes their katsu super soft and juicy. The katsu is not the same however in a ramen however because it gets soggy really quick. It also takes a long time to get your food at this place, their kitchen is pretty slow. But the server is always friendly and refills your water/tea. It's good for once in a while craving, but I usually walk away feeling unhealthy thinking about how much sodium I just ingested. Try the traditional korean beef soup 1 block down instead, they are much more refreshing.

The staff and atmosphere are fine but it is severely overpriced for what you get! It is NOT japenese noodles, it IS slightly better than Top roman noodles. The meat was cheap tasting... Like a really cheap buffet. I got the number 3. I won't be returning because there is absolutely no reason to. They should charge $5 a plate, that would seem fair, but I still wouldn't returned if they did because it not fresh or anything special

I really liked this place the first time I went, but after a couple more times of going, I found their ramen less appealing. I usually order the spicy miso ramen, but the flavor is a little bit bland, not that spicy for my tastes. It has a nice assortment of toppings that come in the ramen, but the taste is just okay overall. I also tried their corn edamame ramen and the broth was very bland tasting! Which I was very disappointed by. Eventually eating a big bowl of bland tasting ramen can grow unappetizing. It's not bad food, but it is a bit overpriced for the quality of it. I believe the egg rolls and the gyoza are frozen. I enjoy the egg rolls regardless, but the gyoza is not that good. The staff is very friendly though and I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's a very cute place and has tv's all around airing Japanese tv shows. The decorations are very nice as well and it's clean. Just the food is just alright. It's a good place to go with a group and I typically only go there when my friends want to eat there because it's just a nice lounging/casual restaurant. It's not bad food, and if you are in the mood for ramen, this place is not a bad choice. It's just a bit more gourmet than top ramen packets and made to look more fancy.

Unfortunately this place isn't "authentic" ramen. Also quite pricey for "not so much" ingredients in it. Store bought ramen with some fixings will do better.

I haven't had much ramen, but I can definitely tell you that this place is just aite... It doesn't happen to often that I walk into a place and it smells like pine-sol, but when it does it makes me gag and think that the place is a lot filthier that pine-sol is supposed to make you think. And when you walk in, you'll find this smell kick you right in the head. The lady was nice enough. I asked her what kind of veggies were in the vegetarian ramen and if it were in fact vegetarian based and she simply replied with, "I don't know." I asked if she could ask the cook, but she said she's probably right. Um... I don't know why, but I trusted her. And it just tasted like an average bowl of soup with bland veggies.

Mmmmmm! Who doesn't love Ramen Noodles? I usually associated Ramen with poor college students but there actually is places high quality Ramen Noodles! I Love Ramen is just such a place! There are a huge amount of choices as to what you want in your noodle bowl. I decided to go meatless this time around and went with a nice bowl of Ramen Noodles with fresh veggies and tofu! Need I say that the tofu was amazing! It had a light crispy batter around big blocks of tofu. The only thing I would change would have more of these blocks in my bowl! Really good stuff! We both had difficulty trying to decide what we wanted, Steve and I. Steve went with the server's suggestion of a spicy seafood mixed Ramen noodle bowl. On the top of the bowl it seemed to taste pretty good. The spice counteracted much of the fishy taste however I preferred my milder spiced bowl more. Steve said when he got to the bottom of the bowl it started tasting very fishy and he did not care for the taste at that point at all. I would definitely go back! I loved what I ordered and would get it again! Sometimes meat dishes are too robust in flavor in certain things for me and getting tofu was a perfect choice on this occasion!

The only time the waitress said something to me was after I paid. She said thank you. Portion definitely got smaller than it used to. For $10+ I expected more. The waitress that first worked there when they first opened up was the best. Now you'll get the type of service that they try to take the damn menu away from you when you're not done ordering.

ahh..hot, spicy, noodly, soupy goodness. This place hits the spot for those cold nights or when you've got a cold. We ordered the chicken karage and the Spicy Nagasaki Ramen...Yum! Their portions are HUGE. A little overpriced for ramen (about $11/bowl), but they can get away with it cause it's that good!

Tried two dishes: Shumai - the texture of the meat had little resistance and had an uncannily high resemblance to the ones found in the frozen food section of the grocery store: 1 star. Tonkotsu Ramen - it was edible... maybe the quality is probably not bad for the Federal Way area, but that does not justify how watered down and bland the broth was. Also, the ramen noodles were too mushy. And what's with the cold, hard-boiled egg? The portion size was generous, but it was pricy for what you get: 1 star.

I love Ramen...but I only like the ramen at I Love Ramen. Are you still with me? Hello? Bottom line: While it can't hold a candle to ramen houses in LA or Vancouver, or even Seattle, this is the best ramen fix the South Sound has...at the moment. Large selection of the basics (char siu, shoyu, miso) done OK. Broths are not the best. Noodles are better than the broth, but it's not "soul food" good. Prices are decent, averaging $7 to $10 for a large bowl. Large selection of other items including curry, katsu and tempura. Again - OK, not great. Clean. Service is still getting sorted out - but friendly and making an effort. The space comfortably held our party of 7, but it is on the smaller side. I would not bring large parties here. This place will probably get a little better once it's settled in, but I doubt it's ever going to be a Great Ramen House. Big note: As of this writing, they have NO TAKE OUT. They're saying it's because they want everything to be fresh - probably kinda true - but I think it's mostly cause they haven't figured out how to package the ramen properly yet. They turned away 3 to go orders during our visit. My crystal ball says that will change. Specifics: The curry is of the Vermont variety, I believe. A little on the thick side, definitely on the down side of the middle of the road. Broths were mediocre. My char siu ramen broth had the slight after taste of gristle and lacked depth. It wasn't a deal breaker, but fanatics take note. The miso ramen broth was a little over sweet to our party's taste. Tempura was ok. The veggie tempura app had a nice variety of items and was large, but it seemed as though the oil wasn't hot enough when cooked because it retained more oil than it should have. I have to give the owners credit - they're tapping into the underserved demographic of Puget Sound ramen fanantics. If pho has such a big, crazy following - why not serve ramen freaks? People walking in kept saying how excited they were to get a bowl of ramen. Hopefully I Love Ramen will continue to improve and our love affair will begin in earnest.

After a long day of work, some coworkers and I visit this lovely little restaurant. From the first time through now, I've loved coming in. A large bowl of ramen that has a great price! I usually buy, and it's totally worth it.

  • Anna G.

Warning: This is not the same type of ramen you'd get at Samurai or Ippudo or Santouka, etc. The broth is light and doesn't seem bone-based at all. The nagasaki ramen was tasty, but it was really more of a seafood soup than anything else. Pork ramen was bland like another reviewer said. Service was great, but for the price I would rather drive up to seattle and get some "real" ramen.

It's your average bowl of ramen, personally I would rather cross the street and buy some instant ramen from hmart. But if you want to sit down at a very fancy restaurant and eat a 10 dollar bowl of average ramen, you can come here. It's has a very impressive menu at least.

i've had better but i've had much, much worse and i didn't have to "build-my-own" ramen. we spotted I Love Ramen on our way to Hmart and Paldo for a food stock-up trip and stopped on our way back. it is a nice cozy space with a very japanese plastic display of their food. the muted tv in the corner showed NHK channel. the waitress was very welcoming and friendly. the ramen noodles and the ramen broth are made in-house. the udon noodles are not. the ramen menu is large with at least two dozen ramens and a wide variety of izakaya small plates. i was pleased to see hiyashi ramen on the menu and intrigued by the ramen "shabu shabu". i settled on the chasu ramen. this is a shoyu ramen with extra chasu pork slices. having spent my childhood in yokohama i always choose a shoyu ramen as my benchmark. this is the first time in a long time that i did not have to build my ramen by purchasing every single piece of topping. i know i am harping on this, but this is a very foreign concept to me. each type of ramen usually comes with specific toppings and if you want more or other toppings then, you pay. imho the egg is never an optional item. the noodles were perfect. the broth at first sip seemed a bit flat but grew on me after a while. i was happy to see raw bean sprouts and beautifully thin sliced green onions. the correct condiments were on the table: the white "table" pepper and the shichimi red pepper. the gyoza had a delicate skin and the tonkatsu was hot, not greasy and tender. the egg that was hard boiled with an almost green ring around the yolk was a disappointment. although very tender, the chasu (i am sure it was a tenderloin cut) was too lean with not a bit of fat. it is unfortunate that many places serving ramen fear to serve fatty pork in an attempt accommodate the "american-healthy" taste for lean pork. it's a long drive from lynnwood to federal way but if i happened to be in the right mood with the right company, i would not oppose driving to I Love Ramen. if i knew i would be in the area, i would definitely plan to stop by for a bowl of ramen.

I've decided that what I imagine Japanese ramen to taste like, will never be what I expect it. (And trust me, I'm a pro. I grew up on dehydrated Korean ramen ;-P) Even still, I had a good time. I ordered the spicy ramen and the boyfriend ordered the katsu ramen. I enjoyed the broth - nicely flavored and came out steaming hot. Jasmine tea is complimentary as long as you ask for it and the service was good. We also ordered the edamame which came out warm and was very satsifying. I'm not in a hurry to come back, but I'm glad to see that we have a ramen restaurant in Federal Way.

Pretty mediocre experience. I really wanted to like it, as there aren't many places in pierce county to get ramen. While the broth in the Tonkotsu was good, Everything they put it in the broth was really mediocre.

  • Steve C.

Definitely a step up from my ramen days in college but nothing outstanding. The spicy ramen wasn't that spicy and I had to add chili powder to get it where I wanted. The broth was nice and hot. Noodles were exactly like the packet ramen which is what I expected. My bowl arrived quickly during the lunch hour. I might go back if I'm in the area.

  • Riss C.

Horrible horrible service. And I'm not usually one to complain nor am I picky about my food. I ate at this restaurant 2 days ago and ordered the spicy shoyu ramen. Today when I ordered the same dish it was extremely spicy! And I mean unbearable spicy! When I told the waiter/cook he said "oh well this is my first time trying out a new spicy powder" he seemed apologetic. And when I asked him to replace it with ramen that isn't spicy, he comes back and gives me the same dish but instead it tasted like all he did was add water. Totally disgusting. I was expecting more from this as they admitted that they changed the way they made the dish!! But instead I felt like a burden to them. And to top it off the Asian lady that works there is also ignorant and rude. Not even a smile from her!

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh with my rating. I'm a little spoiled when it comes to the quality of ramen I'm used to eatting, because I grew up in Hawaii where ramen shops are more common than pho places. I Love Ramen had a good variety in their menu, but the broth was sub-par for my taste. I ordered the shoyu ramen, which was just okay. To be honest, it tasted exactly like the packaged shoyu ramen you can buy at Asian markets, which I was very disappointed by. The pork that came with it was delicious though, and the wait staff was very pleasant. All in all, I wasn't wowed by the food, but it would be a nice introduction to ramen if you've never had it before. My friends from Washington all enjoyed their food...

I haven't had enough shares of ramen restaurants to know whether or not this is the best, but I definitely enjoy it! The ramen here is served in huge bowls and there is a lot of variety. The server is always incredibly sweet and kind. I always get different types of spicy ramen and have never left thinking it tasted bad. I would definitely recommend people to come here, but I would say only during lunch time. I agree with the other Yelpers and say that the ramen here is overpriced, but during lunch they have cheap prices and that's when I'd say it's worth it. They also include the weekend as having lunches which is a plus because most Asian restaurants don't have lunch specials on the weekends.

I went here for dinner last night with a few friends, and the first thing that pops out is the authenticity/feel of the restaurant itself - there are real Japanese kimono dolls and traditional robes on the wall! I ordered the tempura udon soup - the portions were enormous, but the food itself was just okay (meaning a bit bland).

you definitely have to LOVE ramen to justify paying $10 for a bowl of it. I did not see nor taste why this play is a 4 star place. I agree with Michael G. that its probably H-Mart ramen - throw in a handful of bean sprouts, corn... and whatever ramen you decide on: gyoza, katsu, etc... goes on top. the place is small. easy parking. people are nice. but $10 for ramen is ridiculous... i'd rather pay $6 for a large bowl of pho.

The food's not bad, but the service can be either welcoming and friendly or dour, depending on who you get. We got dour. We were kind of hoping that a place with an exuberant name like "I Love Ramen" would be a bit more friendly. Good things: Really liked that they have Japan TV or something similar on a couple of monitors. Liked that they speak Japanese. And the service was really fast, which we appreciated. You'll see that a lot of reviewers use the word "bland" for the soup, which is true, but it's not bad. The noodles were chewy and good; the pork tasty. The gyoza weren't spectacular, but weren't bad. And the takoyaki -- octopus fritters -- were a win. Hot chili oil in the condiments at the table would help, as would a higher grade of sweet corn for the soup. The upshot: It's not Samurai Noodle in downtown Seattle or Kukai in Bellevue (the first quite good, the second great), but you can park, get a seat, and take your time in a much quieter setting..

Portions are huge but the broth was a little lacking in flavor. My husband got the tonkotsu ramen, while I had the spicy miso ramen. Great customer service. The menu gives you a variety to chose from. Prices range from $8.95-$12.95 a bowl. It's worth a try.

Authentic Japanese ramen with plenty of additions to choose from. I normally get the takoyaki since it's one of the only places nearby that makes it. Very good, always friendly. I've ordered takeout and it's normally done before I even get there.

HOOOOORAY! What a cute place. Went in for a hot bowl of ramen on a cold rainy day in Federal Way, and it was everything I was expecting. I honestly don't CARE if it's owned by Japanese, Koreans......whatever....... It's good..... The hostess is super dee-duper sweet, and they had this awesome Japanese exercise show going on that kept me entertained while we waited for our food. I can't remember what I ordered. GOSH! But it's one of the only ones with SOY BEANS AND CORN and it was FREAKING AMAZING. Here's a picture: yelp.com/biz_photos/yIHx… And considering it's one of the only ramen places in Federal Way, hey, I'm not complaining. Tasty and warms me up? I Love Ramen, you do the job well. I'll be coming back :) PS. a little pricey, my bowl was about $9-ish bucks? For two bowls I paid around $21. Just a heads up. BUT!!!! On the flip side? They're HUUUGE bowls.

I ordered the Nagasaki Chanpon, and was very happy with it. It's so hard to find in the United States, and this hit all the right notes from when I used to live in the Nagasaki area. My fellow foodie ordered some ramen, and she has been on a quest for just the right flavors she misses from Japan. She was not disappointed! It's pretty far from where we live but very worth it. We'll be back.

I had a craving for Japanese ramen and know of people that have been raving about this place for a while, so I decided to make a stop in. The place is small, but it doesn't bother me much. I was happy to see that the place has chu-hai, as I've been wanting to try that for ageeeeeeeessssssssssss! I ordered the shoyu ramen and it was rather bland. The soup base had no taste, but the seaweed, corn, egg, and pork were fine.

This place should be called I love reheated frozen food. Although their staff and general ambience of the place were not bad, the food was absolutely horrible. We started by ordering the Gyoza and shumai. The second they came out I could tell that they were frozen and the only effort that they put into it was putting it on a fancy plate. The second I took a bite of each appetizer, I confirmed my suspicions. For the ramen, I ordered the donkatsu ramen. This was the blandest broth I ever tasted. The ramen noodles were clumped and obviously not freshly made . And the garnishing was soggy and didn't meld with the ramen. I left this place paying absurdly too much for horrible frozen food. I will never return here to eat. This place was so bad it forced me to write my first yelp review ever. Ugh. Hope this review helps and saves you from a horrible waste of money.

This place is a favorite of mine,I am never disappointed with my orders. The ramen is so yummy and the service is usually super quick, but if it is busy, don't be a jerk and realize that their is a small staff for this small restaurant. We always order a tofu dish and enjoy them as our appetizers, the takoyaki is also pretty good.

My husband and I were in the Federal Way area and we were starving after an afternoon of shopping. As usual my husband wanted Pho but I am sooo Pho'ed out. The only time I will step into another Pho restaurant is to buy an iced coffee. Anyways we saw this place and decided to give it a try. Of course their menu was all about the ramen. Several dozen. I couldn't makeup my mind and played safe and ordered the tempura ramen. The noodles were good, not overcooked and the broth was okay, not too salty or bland but okay. The tempura was perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the spicy nagasaki chanpon. This had seafood, veges, pork and a spicy broth that was so comforting. We switched our bowls and ate half of each other's order and I have to admit that I didn't want to give his bowl back. It was pretty tasty. They also have the non spicy version. The service was quick and the ambiance was nice. I would go back again to try one of the unusual ramens.

So disappointed! The broth had no flavor, I had to add salt! And the noodles were frozen, not fresh! Mine weren't even cooked properly. I had a glob of noodles in flavorless broth. I will never return! :/

If you like Pho, I'm pretty certain you'll like this, it's not the same as Pho, but it's a welcome change from time to time. I had the "Spam" Ramen, which consists of a big bowl of Ramen with some sliced hard boiled eggs, assortment of veggies and 3-4 spam fritters. I have to say, I thouroughly enjoyed this, the only "bad" thing I would say, is the price, is a few bucks more than most Pho places I have been, too. I'll have to try some other Ramen another time, and may change my rating to 5 stars afer a few more visits.

If your just starting out trying ramen for the first time and I'm not talking about "college ramen" this is the place to hit up. They have a great variety of options to choose from and very accommodating if you have a special request such as vegetarian. My cousin who came with me today had such request and our waitress was very friendly and made sure to let the chef know. Our order today was: 1 order of Agedashi Tofu 1 vegetable ramen 1 spam ramen 1 tempura ramen

I lived on Top Ramen as a starving student. I know Top Ramen. I ordered Tonkotso Ramen, number 3 on the menu. Repeated it three different times...#3. I got Tonkastu Ramen, number...who knows. Well, what I got was by far the most expensive Top Ramen bowl I've ever had. Yes, it tasted just like Top Ramen...squiggly noodles and packet broth. So much more to say about the service and expectation that evening, but I will leave you with this one message: If you want to order something, make sure you order by the item number or you might accidently end up with Glorified Top Ramen. Just our experience. I'm sure if we got what we ordered, I would have left a more favorable review.

Chikara mochi ramen! Don't know anywhere else you can get that...besides the instant noodle bowl type sold at the asian grocery stores. Portion size was also a surprise...super large bowl filled with lots of noodles, mochi, and other good stuff. The menu is full of different ramen choices, as well as various appetizers and cold noodle options. Another ramen that definitely caught my eye was the Miso Natto Ramen. It's always surprising to see natto on any menu, let alone natto ramen. Definitely going to have to try that one next time. We also ordered the karaage chicken...a standard for my husband. It was pretty good, nothing out of the ordinary though. One thing that was a little confusing...the restaurant hours were printed on the menu and said that it closed at 11pm on Friday (the day we went)...however, while we were finishing up, the waitress turned off the Open sign in the window at 9:30pm. So...you may want to call ahead to make sure they're open if it's getting late.

Probably the most unique noodle house I've been to in a while. It's not your package of College Ramen. This is the authentic stuff. I'm talking Tokyo Street-food Ramen. Don't go here expecting it to taste like Pho. Don't expect it to taste like Maruchan Ramen with the dried packets of sodium enriched lack-of-flavor. You're getting the real deal. Had their #1 bowl the first time I went here. Then, I tried the Curry Ramen the second time. Curry + Ramen? Are you kidding me?! Sign me up, please. Yes, I'll take two. Three, in fact. This ramen was J-Curry supreme. Yeah. I had my Japanese Curry fix in the form of noodles. How cool was that?! If you're hungry for Pho and you're in Federal Way, why not try I Love Ramen instead? Heck, it's right near another Pho house, so be adventurous. Try them out. And no, their Ramen doesn't come from H-Mart.

Very tasty ramen. The noodles tasted fresh. Flavors very authentic. We tried takoyaki appetizer. I had spicy shoyu ramen and my wife tried their hiyashi soba (chashu ramen?). All very good. Good service, attentive but not intrusive. . Only bad part is that we live in Issaquah. If they were a bit closer, I Love Ramen would be my favorite noodle house. Instead, I'll have to stick with some of the good pho places in the Eastside for my noodles cravings.

A ramen shop in federal way??? I been searching for a good ramen place, so of course I had to try out I love Ramen. I ordered the i love nagasaki spicy champon. The broth was about right, not too salty, pretty standard. At first I thought the portion was too big, but I was able to finished it just fine. I'm all about the noodle, thought it could've been better, was cooked a bit too long. There was alot of squid and veggie so that's a plus. The ramen menu is pretty extensive, so i'm looking forward to go back and try something else!

If you like store bought Instant Ramen but you are too lazy to make it yourself, this is the place for you. Their noodles come from instant ramen packs that probly came from H-Mart. If you have ever eaten real fresh home made ramen, you will be disappointed in this place.

Food was okay. A little pricy for noodles.

I've definitely had better ramen, but I love ramen is the closest ramen restaurant for me and it's still good. It's just that the broth doesn't seem the same as real ramen restaurants where they boil the broth for a very long time and it becomes thicker and tastier.

For one of my jobs, I used to be in the Federal Way area every Saturday evening. One night I had a serious craving for ramen, actually I had been craving for quite some time. I knew I wouldn't be able to make it down to the International District in time to Samurai Noodle. I noticed this place a couple times before with the big grand opening sign. Figured no one I knew would have been to the place yet but I gave it shot since I was pretty hungry. The atmosphere was a bit dull, as was the greeting. They seemed friendly but it wasn't too welcoming. I sat by the window on a stool since it was only myself. No surprise that I was going to order the spicy miso ramen regardless but I took a quick glimpse through the menu. There were the basics and I really didn't care much just only for the ramen selections. It took awhile for my order to come out, maybe like 15min or so. A little long in my opinion, I mean it's just soup and noodles. Well, I pretty much got just that. Soup. Noodles. Half an egg. One piece of pork, small. Green onions. What happen to the corn and bean sprouts in my miso that I love so much?! And what about a little bit more meat people, especially for what you're charging me. The broth was pretty bland, no saltiness or spicyness. The noodles were softer that I would have liked and well there wasn't much of anything else in my bowl to comment on. My instant ramen I make at home that costs $1 a pack had more flavor. Pretty much I felt like I could have stopped by the H-mart across the street, grab a pack of ramen and condiments, go home and make it myself for the same price. And it would have definitely tasted better!
